- No screens 60 minutes before target bedtime; teen melatonin is more strongly suppressed by evening blue light than adult melatonin.
- Recognise that 'just go to bed earlier' fails biologically — telling an adolescent to fall asleep at 21:30 is asking them to sleep against active circadian alertness.
